Program Description

Event Details

In commemoration of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald 50 years ago (Nov. 10, 1975)

Explore the rich tapestry of Michigan's history and geography, uncover the enduring traditions of Indigenous communities, and sail through maritime mysteries that still echo across Michigan’s shores. From local folklore to famous shipwrecks, the enigma of lost legacy and the cultural heritage that continues to shape our region, this program invites you on a journey through time, place, and memory—celebrating the spirit and resilience of the Great Lakes and those who’ve called them home.

The one-hour long program concludes with a multi-sensory fusion of art and music - a dynamic 6-minute live painting unfolding on a spinning easel, engaging sight, sound, and emotion. This visual and auditory experience is a unique and memorable anchor for the presentation’s message.

All those attending also have the chance to win a print of the painting they just watched come to life right before them.
